Regular Tournament

Tournament Details

• The 2023/24 regular tournament season will commence on November 20, 2023 and continue until the end of March 2024.
• Tournaments will take place at various venue twice monthly, typically on Mondays.
• A tournament will limited to a maximum of thirty (30) players, organized into groups of six (6) players at five (5) tables.
• As players are eliminated and seats become available at tables, the remaining players will be relocated and condensed periodically as appropriate to minimize the number of active tables and keep those tables filled.
• The cost of entry for a tournament is a $1,000 DOP donation for charity, payable to a Bragging Rights Poker representative at the venue prior to the game starting time (there are no re-buys).
• Each player will receive a total of four thousand (4,000) chips for their entry fee donation.
• A player is welcome to take a break of reasonable length at any time (substitute players are not allowed in the game at any time for any reason once tournament play gets underway).
• If a player with remaining chips permanently abandons their seat for any reason before the tournament completes, their chips will be forfeited back to the house chip rack and removed from the game.
• Blinds begin at 25/50 chips and are increased every twenty (20) minutes.

• Tournaments conform to no-limit betting rules.
• The expected duration is approximately four (4) hours, but may vary depending on several factors.
• First hands will be dealt at the specified starting time. Any registered players not present and paid within 15 minutes of the starting time will forfeit their seat to people on the “Standby List” who are present (see below for more details on the Standby List).
• There is no designated dealer – each player is responsible for dealing in turn as hand play moves around the table.

• Pictures from the tournament and the winner will be posted on Facebook and on this web site in the News page update that will follow within a few days after the tournament.

Tournament Prizes

• The tournament winner will receive:
  • A complementary $2000 DOP food and/or drink voucher from the hosting venue.
  • The Bragging Rights Poker Tournament winner trophy.
  • Personal bragging rights and unlimited license to shamelessly flaunt such a monumental achievement!

Multi-Tournament Winners

A single person may enter and win multiple tournaments throughout the season. In the case where a previous tournament winner wins again in a subsequent tournament, they still receive the tournament prizes (trophy, gift certificate, etc.). However, since that player has already secured a seat in the Championship Tournament from their prior win, the seat for the subsequent tournament is awarded to the player who finishes the tournament in second place.
